Chrysler from that time period had some pretty fantastic wheels across all divisions.

Whenever I’m down in Mexico (Yucatan) I see TONS of these around, either the sebrings or the stratus. If anyone could shed some light onto why that would be fantastic. I understand things don’t rust as much down here but I was under the impression the V6 engines in these also failed chronically

Cheap, comfortable, reliable*. I’m 90k on a non-sludge year and the actual maintenance repairs has been minimal. A window regulator clip broke, alternator, crankshaft position sensor. The top got replaced at 10 years but everything else still works as intended. (I’ve yet to even need to replace any tie rods or CVs).
* As long as you got a non-sludge year 2.7 or ran synthetic from day on one a sludge year one. Also the timing chain will grenade the engine at 120k miles if the guide and chain aren't replaced around the 110k mark.

Mexico (at least around here) seems to be a lot more on top of DIY maintenance too so that would help explain it. Thanks!
